 As you are deployed in the service of our country,

we promise to carry you in our hearts and prayers.

As you go forth, we ask the Holy Spirit of God to equip you with the gift of Fortitude,

the Truth and Courage you will need to face the challenges and dangers of wartime.

We join with our faith-filled ancestors in our loving prayer for you:

* May you live in the shelter of God, and prosper in the shade of the Almighty.

* May you not fear the terror of the night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the enemy that stalks in darkness, or the plague that destroys at noon.

* May you find safety and refuge in the shield of our God, the Faithful One.

* Though a thousand people fall around you, may danger not come near you.

* May the angels of God come to guard you and protect you in all your ways.

With faith, may you cling to God Most High, and be delivered from all distress.

* May no evil come before you, and no affliction visit your tent.

* May God deliver you, and return you to us here at home in safety.

* We pray together with Jesus our Savior, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

One God forever and ever. Amen.
